Driver Faces Charges After Crash Damages Police Car In Fairfield County

A Fairfield man was arrested for DWI with property damage after crashing into another vehicle that hit the back of a police cruiser.

Seth Shepard, 26, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Monday, after he collided with a car stopped at the intersection of Post Road at Sanford Street. The vehicle he hit, then struck the rear of a patrol car as a result of the collision, Fairfield Police said.

The police vehicle received minor damage, the others vehicles received heavy damage. No one was injured, police added.

Shepard was charged with driving under the influence and following too closely. He was released on $100 bond.
